In Conversation: Hilary Pecis and Katy Hessel
Join us for a conversation between artist Hilary Pecis and art historian, curator, and author Katy Hessel, on the occasion of Wandering, Pecis’s second solo exhibition with the gallery.
Known for her vibrant still life and landscape paintings, Pecis transforms everyday moments into richly detailed compositions through vivid color, texture, and intricate patterning. In her latest series, the artist presents kaleidoscopic views drawn from her daily outings—celebrating the quiet beauty of the familiar.
The pair will discuss the artist’s process, influences, and how her daily surroundings inform her painting practice, while also exploring themes of observation, everyday life, and historical representation in art.
The talk will coincide with the private view from 6–8pm.
