The AGO’s Department of Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora presents Critical Views, a selection of recent acquisitions by contemporary artists. Featuring works by Paul Anthony Smith and Sahara Longe, this installation highlights their distinct approaches to expressing the multiplicity of histories, identities, and cultural perspectives within the African diaspora. Through a diverse range of visual tropes, subjects, and narratives, these works explore the layered complexities of Black diasporic life, as well as the multifaceted experiences of the artists and the communities they represent.
