30 Years
-
For three decades, Timothy Taylor has championed artists whose practises expand the language of contemporary art. The gallery’s thirtieth anniversary marks an occasion to reflect on these relationships and the ideas that continue to shape our programme. To mark this milestone, the gallery will present an anniversary exhibition, celebrating key works from our history while highlighting the new directions our artists's practises take today.
-
Founded in Mayfair in 1996, Timothy Taylor has developed a programme grounded in sustained engagement with artists over time. From its origins in a Georgian townhouse in London to its international presence today, the gallery has remained committed to presentations that situate contemporary practises within broader historical frameworks, emphasising depth, continuity, and exchange.

“The gallery has always been defined by its artists. Over three decades, these relationships have grown in ways that continue to guide and challenge us. That is the heart of this gallery: to amplify their new languages and further their creative ambitions. And after these many years, the potential and excitement of that mission never cease to spark my enthusiasm.” – Tim Taylor

Our thirtieth anniversary offers an opportunity to reflect on the consistency, depth, and curiosity that have shaped the gallery’s programme, and to acknowledge the artists who have defined it, bringing together new, recent, and historic works by represented artists, alongside paintings by significant twentieth-century figures whose work Timothy Taylor has consistently championed over the past three decades.
