Flea Market (2021) has been added to the permanent collection of the The National Gallery of Art, Washington, USA. The work was first seen in Piecemeal Rhythm, Pecis's first solo exhibition at Timothy Taylor London last spring. Characteristic of Pecis's distinctive horizontal splay, Flea Market captures a brightly colored interior scene of piled books, decorative objects and art through a flattened perspective and vividly exaggerated patterns. In this images, everydayness is quietly made weird via kaleidoscopic pilings of textures, patterns, and apertures into and out of the space.
