A Night at the Sock Hop

For T Magazine’s The Artists series, Honor Titus introduces Sock Hop (2020), a painting of a young woman mid-dance at a 1950s school dance, made in his Los Angeles studio in the late summer of 2020. Ahead of his first New York solo show with Timothy Taylor, he reflects on nostalgia, youthful longing and the music and books that shaped him, from Lou Reed to Horatio Alger.
