A new public sculpture by Eddie Martinez is now on view at Riverfront Park in New Jersey, created specifically for The Art of the Game by ARTS 14C. Coinciding with the FIFA World Cup, the citywide exhibition brings together 23 contemporary artists, each invited to transform a monumental soccer ball into a unique work of art. Here, Martinez’s sculpture incorporates his distinctive visual lexicon, including his recurring “Bufly,” translating familiar motifs from his paintings into a new public scale.
